Consultour acquires the Travel Plus agency network
MONTREAL, August 20

Consultour, a travel agency franchisor and subsidiary of Transat A.T. Inc., announces the cquisition of Travel Plus, a network of 84 independently owned travel agencies throughout Canada operating under the names of Travel Plus and Goliger's.

'The acquisition of Travel Plus will contribute to the expansion of our network and strengthen our presence in distribution on the Canadian market. As a result of the acquisition, Consultour becomes the second-largest travel agency network in Canada with 292 either corporately owned, franchised or affiliate agencies.' notes Odette Thomas, President of Consultour. ' We intend to pursue our philosophy of providing the support and tools required to promote the development and success of our retail network,' she concludes. In steps with these developments, Consultour's Toronto office will be managed by Susan Edwards, General Manager. Ms. Edwards has 20 years of experience in the travel industry. Maggie Bulgarelli, from Travel Plus, will be part of the management team in the role of Director, affiliate network. The network will continue to be managed from Toronto.
