Lina De Cesare, Co-founder and President, Tour Operators, of Transat A.T. Inc., last night won a Prix femmes d'affaires du Québec award in the “Manager or Professional, Private Enterprise” category. The annual awards are organized by the Réseau des femmes d’affaires du Québec to honour the extraordinary accomplishments of Quebec businesswomen.
“I am very pleased and very proud to receive this award,” Ms. De Cesare said. “It takes many people, including a large number of women, in all communities, large and small, to make the wheel of tourism turn. I would therefore like to thank all these people, so passionate about our industry, who contribute to the growth and recognition of this important economic sector.”
Ms. De Cesare is responsible on a day-to-day basis for $3 billion in annual sales and for all the elements critical to the functioning of Transat’s tour operation business: product development; purchasing from thousands of suppliers in more than 60 countries; management of inventory; commercialization, sales and marketing. Her team, based in eight countries, works in six languages and sells products in Canada and in practically all European countries.
Launched in 2001, the Prix femmes d'affaires du Québec awards recognize excellence by women in their specific industry as well as their contribution to its success. Award-winners stand apart for their know-how and people skills, their achievements and their influence in all spheres of Quebec’s economy, as well as nationally and internationally.
