Transat, one of the largest integrated tourism companies in the world and Canada’s holiday travel leader, is thrilled with the response it has received from area residents and travel agents following the introduction of direct flights from Thunder Bay to three of the most popular Sun destinations: Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, Varadero, Cuba, and Montego Bay, Jamaica. Included in vacation packages sold by both Transat Holidays and Nolitours, flights will operate every Thursday, from December 22, 2011 to April 5, 2012. Travellers will no longer need to fly out of another city, and more consumers can now take advantage of the many options available from Transat Holidays and Nolitours. Transat is extremely satisfied with sales to date for the upcoming winter season.
Punta Cana is among the most popular winter destinations for Canadians and is known worldwide for its endless white-sand beaches, lagoons and variety of water sports practiced along the coral coasts. Transat’s long-term presence in the Dominican Republic has enabled the company to secure contracts with 43 hotels of all categories. Montego Bay is also a long-time favourite with its famous reggae sounds, lush greenery and unforgettable sunsets. Transat offers 40 hotels in Montego Bay, Lucea, Ocho Rios and on the south coast of Jamaica. Varadero’s soft sand beaches, turquoise waters, blue skies and proximity to Havana’s cultural attractions make it a vacation classic. Transat features 39 hotels in Varadero and 17 in Havana. Excursions can also be booked at destination or prior to departure through Transat Holidays and Nolitours.
“This season’s new concepts place Transat Holidays and Nolitours in a class of their own. We’ve listened to our clients, and our mission remains the same: to offer high-quality products that meet the needs of travellers. Our program is constantly improving, and we are gaining the attention of Canadians with our range of superior vacation products and flexible flight programs. These efforts appear to be paying off, and our winter season out of Thunder Bay is full of promise,” said Denise Heffron, Vice President, National Sales and Commercial.
