Transat, one of the largest integrated tourism companies in the world and leader in Canada’s holiday travel industry, and Visa Canada are pleased to announce that Visa Debit is now accepted for bookings and seat selections made on airtransat.ca and via Air Transat’s call centres. Since October 12, 2012, Canadian cardholders have been making Visa Debit payments online and over the phone for air travel, safely and conveniently from their bank account.
Visa Debit allows one-step online electronic debiting of funds, and is backed by Visa’s multiple layers of security, which helps to reduce the risk of fraud through Visa’s Zero Liability Policy, Verified by Visa®, E-Promise, AVS (Address Verification Service) and CVV2 (the three-digit code). For more information about Visa’s Zero Liability Policy and E-Promise, visit www.visa.ca.
“Air Transat is constantly evolving to provide an enhanced customer experience,” said Joseph Adamo, Vice President, Marketing & Web Commercialisation, Transat Canada. “Implementing Visa Debit allows us to better meet the needs and wants of Canadian travellers, who are increasingly seeking greater flexibility in the way they pay for their purchases.”
“We’re pleased to enable Air Transat with the benefits of Visa Debit technology, and proud to bring Visa’s security, convenience and reliability to Air Transat and its passengers,” said Sue Whitney, Head of New Products, Visa Canada.
