Air Transat and its pilots reach a tentative agreement

MONTREAL, Feb. 24, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Air Transat and its pilots have reached a tentative agreement on renewal of the collective agreement that expired last April. The agreement, whose approval will be recommended by the union executive, will be submitted to the pilots in the coming days.

"We have reached a reasonable agreement that is satisfactory to both parties and we are confident that it will be approved by all the pilots. The threat of an imminent strike has been averted," said Jean-François Lemay, General Manager, Air Transat.

Transat is an integrated international tour operator with more than 60 destination countries and that distributes products in over 50 countries. A holiday travel specialist, Transat operates mainly in Canada and Europe, as well as in the Caribbean, Mexico and the Mediterranean Basin. Montreal-based Transat is also active in air transportation, destination services, accommodation and distribution.
