Montreal, March 17, 2014 — This year, Air Transat celebrates the 20th anniversary of its service to Ireland. Flight TS126 on May 3, 1994 marked the inaugural flight between Toronto and Dublin as well as Toronto and Shannon.
The connection between Ireland and Canada is still very much alive. For many Canadians, a trip to Ireland is a pilgrimage to the land of their ancestors; for others, it’s the discovery of a magical and mythical place of striking scenery and emerald tones. Centuries of history make this country a lively, trendy and unforgettable cultural hub. Dublin, the capital, is brimming with architectural wonders, magnificent parks and exceptional vistas, but it’s the people that make this cosmopolitan capital the place to be.
Air Transat operates weekly flights from Toronto to Shannon, on the isle’s west coast, as well as up to five direct flights per week to Dublin, from April to October 2014. Also available are weekly flights to Dublin from Montreal every Wednesday, from May 14 to October 1, 2014.
Air Transat is Canada’s leading holiday travel airline. Every year, it carries some 3 million passengers to nearly 60 destinations in 25 countries. The company employs approximately 2,000 people. Air Transat is a business unit of Transat A.T. Inc., an integrated international tour operator with more than 60 destination countries and that distributes products in over 50 countries.
