Montreal, November 6, 2018 — Air Transat is pleased to be partnering with easyJet and its Worldwide by easyJet unique connections service. Travellers arriving at London Gatwick airport from 78 cities in Europe and Africa will now have access to even more connecting flights to Canada with Air Transat thanks to the Worldwide by easyJet platform. An additional agreement with GatwickConnects will provide easyJet passengers with flight protection, ensuring a worry-free journey.
“London Gatwick has been a European mainstay for Air Transat for 30 years, with daily direct flights to Toronto as well as departures to major Canadian cities such as Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal. Moreover, it serves as one of easyJet’s main airports,” explains Annick Guérard, Chief Operating Officer at Transat. “This agreement reinforces London Gatwick’s importance for Air Transat, which was named the 2018 World's Best Leisure Airline. It makes us even more versatile, as we open up a range of possibilities to a new clientele looking to come to Canada,” she concludes.
Johan Lundgren, easyJet Chief Executive Officer, said:
“We are really pleased to welcome Air Transat to ‘Worldwide by easyJet’ and are confident their addition to Worldwide will be very popular with our customers.
“We have been delighted with the appetite of partner airports and airlines to expand Worldwide across our network and continue to broaden our focus to launch more airline partners and add connectivity to more of our biggest airports. Tens of millions of connecting passengers travel each year with journeys which begin or end in Europe.”
An easy journey
Travellers passing through London Gatwick who book a flight on the Worldwide by easyJet platform will have access to a wide range of flight options to Canada as well as multiple destinations in Europe. With one platform, they’ll be able to book all of their flights, simplifying their travel. And with a minimum connection time of 2 hours and 30 minutes between flights, they’ll travel with their minds at ease.
GatwickConnects offers passengers simplicity and peace of mind. It’s one-stop shopping for passengers; with just one transaction, they can book connecting flights with airlines that don’t share an interline agreement. The service simplifies baggage handling as well. There’s a GatwickConnects counter in the baggage reclaim area, where passengers can check in their bags and pick up their boarding pass for their next flight, makes connections much quicker.
Further bolstering the agreement, from 1st November, all of Air Transat’s services from London Gatwick have relocated to a new dedicated area of the North Terminal. The North Terminal is also the hub of easyJet’s operation at Gatwick, leading to a seamless connection experience for customers.
