Air Transat revamps its Eco Fares
Even more benefits for passengers in Economy Class

Montreal, November 1, 2017 — Air Transat, Canada’s leading holiday travel airline, has revamped its Eco Fares. Beyond their attractiveness, the Eco Fares—Eco, Eco Extra and Eco Max—created in 2014, are designed to offer flexibility to passengers booking flights in Economy Class, providing them peace of mind and taking their travel experience to new heights.

Among the main improvements to the Eco Fares is the inclusion of standard seat selection in Eco Extra and Eco Max. Eco Max also boasts new benefits, such as an additional piece of checked baggage and priority airport services.

In addition, change or cancellation fees have also been revised for some fares. Passengers who book an Eco Max will now pay half as much for cancelling a flight to or from Europe—that is, $50 instead of $100. The Eco Fares offer varying conditions, allowing passengers to modify their travel dates or cancel a flight if necessary.

“Since their launch, Eco Fares have been very popular with our passengers, who can choose the level of flexibility that’s right for them,” says Annick Guérard, Chief operating Officer of Transat. “That’s why we wanted to improve this offer, particularly by modifying certain fees and offering even more benefits. Each traveller is unique, and the new and improved Eco Fares will more accurately respond to their specific needs.”

The option to choose the desired level of flexibility

Each Eco Fare comes with its own level of flexibility and benefits. Eco, the lowest rate with limited flexibility, allows certain changes to be made for a fee. The affordable Eco Extra offers greater flexibility than Eco and some extras, such as standard seat selection. And lastly, Eco Max is the maximum flexibility rate with plenty of extras, such as an additional piece of checked baggage and priority airport services.

Greater comfort thanks to Club Class and Option Plus

While Eco Fares offer passengers flexibility when booking a flight, Air Transat boasts other options designed to provide the best on-board experience possible. Its Club Class combines personalized service with flexibility. It offers passengers a most pleasant and comfortable flight experience, with more space on board, in addition to complimentary seat selection, a generous baggage allowance and priority check-in, boarding and baggage handling.

On board, more perks await Club Class passengers, such as an exclusive Comfort Kit, a welcome cocktail, a wide selection of quality wines, beverages and snacks, as well as delicious meals, including the gourmet dishes from the Chef’s Menu by Daniel Vézina.

And lastly, passengers who choose Option Plus will be treated to more benefits in Economy Class, such as seat selection, priority check-in at a dedicated counter, additional checked baggage allowance, priority boarding and baggage handling, as well as special on-board perks for optimal comfort.

Details about the new and improved Eco Fares are available at airtransat.com as well as at travel agencies. The Club Class and Option Plus conditions remain the same.
