Montreal, September 20, 2019 – Transat, Canada's leader in leisure travel, presents its 2019-2020 cruise package program. In addition to providing a hassle-free way to travel—including roundtrip flights on Air Transat, transfers and the cruise, plus flight protection and the possibility to extend a stay at no extra charge—the new program features 12 ports of embarkation, 36 ships and more than 110 itineraries in the Caribbean, Mediterranean and Pacific, not to mention two new partners: Cunard and Holland America Line.
The tour operator has new cruise packages pairing flights from Toronto with sailings to the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and Alaska. From Montreal, sea lovers can discover the South Seas with new boarding ports in New Orleans (Louisiana) and Fort-de-France (Martinique). As for vacationers in Vancouver, new routes from Fort Lauderdale will soon be available.
Additions include Alaskan cruises
Transat proudly introduces its new cruises for travellers in the Toronto area. Holland America’s MS Koningsdam sails to Alaska from Vancouver, while the Costa Favolosa explores the Southern Caribbean from La Romana (Dominican Republic). Travellers from Montreal and Toronto can board the Niew Statendam in Rome for a Mediterranean cruise and the Niew Amsterdam from Fort Lauderdale for a Caribbean cruise. From Montreal, vacationers are invited to book their place on the MSC Preziosa for a holiday in the Southern Caribbean from Fort-de-France (Martinique). As of 2020, direct flights from Vancouver to Fort Lauderdale will allow passengers to board the Costa Luminosa and MSC Meraviglia from Fort Lauderdale and Miami.
Those looking for a truly all-inclusive holiday at sea can find it with Norwegian Cruise Line and Pullmantur Cruises, where packages always include drinks. With MSC Cruises and Costa Cruise Lines, additional inclusions are available for an extra cost.
Cruises offered from six Canadian cities
In addition to the scenic ports of call in the Caribbean and enchanting European cities along the Mediterranean, travellers can now book a cruise package to explore the unspoiled landscapes of Alaska. Transat's experts have carefully selected ships and itineraries to delight both seasoned cruisers and first-timers. Since each cruise line strives to offer consumers a unique experience, Transat’s program appeals to a broad range of interests and travel styles. From fun-filled family cruises to stately ships specializing in relaxation and delectable dining, there’s a dream holiday at sea for everyone among the myriad all-in-one packages available.
In the winter, warm sunshine makes the Caribbean a popular destination. Transat has some 60 cruise packages that allow tourists to explore idyllic islands, some of which are easier to reach by sea than by air. Ports of embarkation include San Juan (Puerto Rico), New Orleans, Miami and Fort Lauderdale (United States), Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe), Fort de France (Martinique), La Romana (Dominican Republic) and Cartagena (Colombia).
During the summer, countless discoveries await in the Mediterranean, with a choice of 48 cruises sailing from Barcelona, Marseille, Rome and Venice. They’re a simple, pleasant way to soak up the ambience of several major European cities in one trip.
Transat offers cruise packages to the South, Alaska and the Mediterranean from Montreal, Toronto, Quebec City, Vancouver, Ottawa and Calgary.
With Flight Protection, travellers are sure to get to their port in case of a flight or ship delay. They can also make the fun last by adding a hotel stay to their adventure at sea. Under certain conditions, they can move up their departure date up to 14 days before their cruise or postpone their return up to 14 days after their journey at sea, at no extra cost. Finally, passengers who book a Caribbean or European cruise package benefit from an additional baggage allowance—an extra 5 kg for a total of 28 kg.
